This CD was an effort to break down the barrier between composing and performing using what I had at hand: a Martin guitar, a pair of Neumann microphones, a small board, and a DAT machine. And my hands…So I wrote some solo guitar pieces, added a few covers, and played them live to tape, some many times!
It is all solo guitar with only one edit (where? I have forgotten…). I used to play most of this live when I was out gigging more.
Of particular note would be the first track “Or-A-Gun”. When I first moved to Portland, Oregon in 1978, this was my attempt to get folks to pronounce Oregon correctly when I went to other parts of the country — really! Who knew I’d be back 35 years later! Life.
